About the Training Course Venues

The following venues have been chosen as they offer good training facilities at reasonable rates to ensure that training costs can be kept to a minimum. Both are fully wheelchair accessible.

GMCVO – Greater Manchester Council for Voluntary Organisations

St Thomas Centre is based in Ardwick Green. It is about half a mile from Piccadilly Station and less than 1 mile from Manchester city centre.

Rail:
For visitors arriving at Piccadilly Station (train or tram) there is a walk of about 10 minutes to the centre.

Taxis:
Taxis are readily available – it is a 10 minute journey and will cost about £4.00.

Buses:
From Manchester buses are available from Piccadilly Station (Fairfield Entrance) and out The Bier Keller/Piccadilly Tavern. The following services are on-route 192, 201, 203, 204 and 205, the journey takes about five minutes.

Car Parking:
There is un-metered parking along Ardwick Green North and on the side streets around the Centre and at the rear of the centre. There are disabled parking bays at the front of the centre. The car park of The Church public house should NOT be used.

Luther King House

The Luther King House is conveniently situated just south of Manchester City centre (2 miles).

The local motorway network is just 3 miles away with Manchester International Airport 6 miles and Piccadilly and Victoria train stations 3 miles. Manchester University campus is near by ¼ mile.

Excellent public transport on the doorstep with regular buses running from Manchester city centre.

Buses:
Buses that run down Wilmslow Road: 41-44, 48, 140, 142,143, 157, 42a - Look for Space Computers Opposite Platt Fields, Brighton Grove runs down the side of Space.

Car Parking:
There is ample free car parking on-site and secure cycle storage.
