Consultant Profile

I am a specialist working with small and medium sized charities, individual projects, groups and organisations in the not-for-profit sector bringing over 25 years direct ‘hands on’ experience of the not-for-profit sector.

My experience has been gained from working across the spectrum of need in a variety of roles:- fundraising management, project management, senior management, Chief Officer/Director and manager of a grant making foundation.

In addition I have experience of working within multi-agency settings to implement government policy as a member of Local Implementation Teams, Best Value Reviews and Adult Protection Committee.

I have extensive experience in all elements of project and organisational development, developing national pilot projects, organisational policy, monitoring and evaluation frameworks to inform future development and funding. I am a trainer developing a range of training programmes particularly for volunteers, about volunteer management and organisational governance.

I have worked for the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) managing and implementing the Approved Provider Standard (APS) and have a specific interest in the development of mentoring and befriending in a range of social and corporate settings. I am an independent assessor for APS and offer advice, training and support around all aspects of mentoring and befriending issues.

I work with organisations to consider the appropriate quality standards to support their work and to develop a realistic action plans to implement these standards. This enables the effective development of projects and services and assures quality throughout an organisation.

My ethos is to work alongside an organisation or individual to encourage, challenge and motivate in order to maximise potential.
