Venture Arts
Venture Arts
Venture Arts provides creative workshops for adults with learning disabilities in Manchester. Participants develop their potential as artists, utilising a variety of mediums and focusing on an individual’s artistic ability, not disability.
Venture Arts have been working with Maxine for a few hours each month over two years to strategically develop the organisation, raise funds and develop a long term business plan to enable the organisation to be sustainable in the future.
Maxine has been working with our Manager in order to support him in considering important developmental issues, drafting organisational policy and importantly developing a funding strategy and writing funding applications. Maxine’s approach has been to be a mentor using action learning so that our Manager develops his skills and knowledge so that they can be used by the organisation after Maxine’s contract comes to an end.
The organisation has increased its income streams introduced new policies and is now drafting a three year business plan. This year has also seen Venture Arts hold its first public exhibition at the Pump House Museum in Manchester where exhibiting artists were able to sell selected pieces ensuring that Venture Arts members are accepted for their artistic abilities.
"As a charity, wholly dependent on fundraising and sponsorship, we have benefited financially and developmentally from Maxine's work with us. In particular, her relationship with the management team has been informative, professional and supportive. The trustees are confident that her consultancy will continue to provide a cost-effective solution to our future needs".
